Introducing Firefly Innovations

Firefly Innovations is a global public health entrepreneurship platform.

With a focus on health equity, Firefly Innovations identifies, cultivates and accelerates impact-driven ventures working to solve public health challenges in New York City, the United States and the world. Firefly also has a commitment on supporting diverse founders with lived experience of the public health challenges they are working to address.

To date, Firefly Innovations has engaged with over 300 venture teams working to solve public health challenges from 16 different countries.

The organization also has a growing global network of over 1,000 entrepreneurs and over 200 public health and industry experts, mentors and advisors.

Of the more than 50 ventures that have been actively supported or accelerated, over 90% have at least one minority founder and half are women-led.

The Firefly team also successfully developed and launched new courses including design thinking in public health and hands-on public health entrepreneurship within the public health graduate degree programs at CUNY SPH.

Firefly also organizes and hosts lectures and workshops to convene experts and practitioners from diverse public and private sectors with public health researchers and students.
